GOLF OUTING 2012
All had a wonderful time June 15, 2011 at the CDW Memorial Foundation first annual golf outing. Volunteers, players, foundation members, family and friends came out in the pouring rain (it did not last all day) to celebrate the life of Chris Wheatley and to raise funds to continue in Chris' spirit help to their fellow men and women.
We were also blessed with a surprise! The 911 flag was in the area and was brought to Cog Hill for all to honor. We had the opportunity to hear from NYC Firefighter Lt. Joe Torrillo who survived the fall of both towers on that fateful day. Lt. Torrillo suffered many severe injuries but after recovering, has dedicated himself to speaking about his experiences and leading tours at Ground Zero. Lt. Torrillo accompanied the 911 flag to all 50 states and that flag was honored at ground zero on the 10th anniversary 9-11-2011.
Everyone at our golf outing could feel Chris' spirit as well as the spirit of all the firefighters and paramedics who serve to keep us all safe.
This year our golf outing will again be at Cog Hill Country Club, Lemont, IL on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The beautiful courses for golf and dinner will be available at the same cost per person/per 4some as in 2011. Dinner includes open bar. You may register for this years' golf outing, dinner only or your donation at www.golfing4chris.com for the 2012 golf outing. PayPal will process all credit card payments. We also accept personal checks mailed to CDW Memorial Foundation, P. O. Box 654, Lemont, IL. 60439. Regardless of how you decide to pay, all attendees/donors must register at www.golfing4chris.com.
Due to the generosity of so many, we had beautiful prizes to raffle. The winners went home very happy! We are so grateful to all who made this outing such a success last year and look forward to another wonderful day this year.
